Valet Parking Bob Perras has provided valet parking in Montreal since 1967 for all kinds of special private and corporate events, such as weddings, banquets and golf tournaments. A team of uniformed valets arrives with all the tools, such as key boxes, signs, and even umbrellas, to escort guests. Supervisors also prevent vandalism in the parking lot.

The Valet Parking Bob Perras team wanted to centralize information, eliminate paper processing, and facilitate event communications and valet management. The platform created for this purpose by the Nmédia teams had to be flexible, adaptable to current methods, and able to be used anytime, anywhere. Information had to be quickly accessible, and schedules had to be easily manageable.

The solution Nmédia chose was the development of standard web and mobile applications to facilitate the management of Valet Parking’s staff and event schedules.

Flexible, intuitive staff scheduling management software

To perfect this staff scheduling management software, we have developed standard web and mobile applications to facilitate working at Valet Parking events. The Valet Parking mobile application has a service‑oriented architecture (SOA) and is divided into different modules: worksheets, events, message centre, and valets. Each section provides total data control and flexible, intuitive management, for example, by allowing worksheets and events to be cloned to speed up management.

Using SignalR and Twilio API technologies, we integrated an SMS messaging solution with inbox alerts and event reminders into the application. This way, discussions between valets are centralized, and invitations are made at the touch of a button. Automatic response processing has also been developed to speed up planning. Depending on the availability indicated by the valets on the application, they are automatically marked as unavailable or assigned to an event.

The mobile version allows the company to be managed anytime, anywhere. Our design team also contributed to the application’s graphics, structure, and forms.

A web and mobile platform for 100% digital management

The platform has continued to evolve after more than a decade of collaboration between the Valet Parking and Nmédia teams. New functionalities have been added, such as event parking management modules, an accident and incident processing module for insurance purposes, and an accounting module for company profitability. Valet Parking’s teams now operate in a 100% digital environment, thanks to their web and mobile application, which enables administrators to manage the entire system remotely.
